Our proprietary Airways Clinical Research Centers (ACRC) Network is a jewel in the crown of the American Lung Association research program. It sparkles in so many ways. As the nation’s largest not-for-profit network of clinical centers dedicated to asthma and COPD research, it includes an impressive bandwidth of experts working together to produce results directly affecting patient care. Indeed, the ACRC Network positively impacts patients through large patient-focused clinical trials led by some of the best investigators nationwide.
Our Centers and Investigators
Our ACRC Network continues to grow to meet the country’s clinical needs. It now stands stronger than ever with 35+ sites across the nation, plus a data coordinating center managed by a team at Johns Hopkins University. See where our centers are located and meet our principal investigators.
Patient Advisory Groups
The American Lung Association Patient Advisory Groups were established in 2017 to incorporate the patient and caregiver perspective into our diverse education, advocacy and research initiatives. The advisors work closely with our ACRC Network to help guide current and future studies based on patient priorities, as well as provide input into research design.
Current ACRC Clinical Trials
There are several clinical trials currently in progress across the United States. If you live with asthma or COPD, or care for someone who does, see what trials are available close to your home.
Major Findings
Outcomes from our studies help shape the clinical practice for people who have asthma and COPD. Learn more about what the ACRC Network has uncovered and how the findings can be applied to your life.
