Fukushima Radiation Reaches West Coast
A study, by John N. Smith of Fisheries and Oceans Canada has determined that that Fukushima radiation reached the continental shelf of Canada by June of last year, and has increased somewhat since. The good news is that the levels of radiation are very low, well below levels that public health authorities cite as grounds for concern. The radiation levels on the West Coast from Fukushima radiation may still increase and eventually reach the beaches. However, they are not expected to approach levels which should worry public health authorities. Indeed expected levels are in the range of naturally occurring exposure.
